Although
this site is solely intended a trip down memory lane
for so many of you dispossessed Star Troopers, a few
legal niceties never go astray. Starlord the comic,
the name and the distinctive likenesses of all
characters, logos, indicia and other materials are
the property of Rebellion A/S, The Studio, Brewer
Street, Oxford OX1 1QN. Visit online at
www.2000adonline.com. Rebellion own the rights
in perpetuity to all characters and stories which
went on to appear in 2000AD, such as Timequake,
Strontium Dog, and Ro-Busters and its many related
sequels. Rebellion's legal department also inform me
that they own the strips featured in Starlord (and
also Tornado), but this is a much disputed matter,
as IPC sold 2000AD to Egmont Fleetway who sold it on
to Rebellion in turn. Although both Starlord and
Tornado were merged with 2000AD, I have been
informed that only the material published in the
merged issues was included in the original sale to
Fleetway, and that whoever now controls the rights
to IPC, which may indeed be Egmont, still owns the
rights to the original strips from Starlord and
Tornado.
Whatever, this is a non-profit site which is run by
a volunteer who funds it from his own pocket in the
interests of Starlord fans across the globe, and
hopes to continue to do so, and remember... |
