Holocaust was a blatant
copy of the sci-fi classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers,
itself undergoing a re-make at that time. It lacked the
originality of Timequake, the strip it replaced, and
starred a character who was little more than a cipher of every
monosyllabic anti-hero doing the rounds since stories began.
This was made particularly apparent on the cover of issue
fourteen, which made no apology for using a thinly-veiled
publicity still of Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry to
showcase the strip. Carl
